Coordinate Measuring Machine-CMM Technique
  1. Contact Probing (Tactile Probing): Using a mechanical touch probe to capture data points on the surface of the workpiece. This method is commonly used to measure dimensions, tolerances, and geometry of objects precisely.
  2. Continuous Scanning: Continuously capturing data as the probe moves along the surface, resulting in a complete surface mapping. This technique is useful for shape analysis and fine defect detection.
  3. Non-Contact Method (Optical/Laser): Using optical or laser sensors to measure objects without physical contact. This technique is suitable for sensitive workpieces, reflective surfaces, or when high speed data retrieval is required.
  4. Automatic Calibration and Alignment: The data processing process uses mathematical algorithms (eg least squares method) to align the measurement points with the CAD model, ensuring that the measurement results are accurate and consistent.
